Currently we spend a lot of time in the mountains of southern Spain where home is a log cabin in ten acres on the side of a mountain overlooking the Med. Well, it was 10 acres, but 7 of them have been spirited away and called the Parque Natural.
Early career as a life coach/personal development/ motivational analyst. The use of graphology or handwriting analysis was a major factor in the success of the programme. I wrote articles, lectured widely, gave seminars on the graphology and appeared on radio.
Developed a definitive career transition package and applied this successfully to a few thousand clients with a strong emphasis on personal empowerment. Managed a large national redundancy/outplacement programme, delivered lectures, wrote articles on empowerment. Lectured to Royal Navy Resettlement and wrote a weekly bulletin sent to RN bases worldwide, wrote regular articles for local papers and newsletters.
Joe and I then shifted focus towards corporate PR, being used as a think-tank for some wide-ranging empowerment issues, and ideas for attracting and securing membership of one of the largest legal professional networks in the country.
‘Retired’ in 1998 when we fell in love with a ruined farmhouse in wet, wet Devon.
Once mission accomplished and we left Devon we began restoring some ancient, neglected, ugly-duckling properties around the country.
Appeared on BBC’s Countryfile and won acclaim and a TV slot for restoring a centuries old manor house in Derbyshire.
Became a publisher by default in 2004. My father had just written his memoirs about his derring-do as a Spitfire pilot and jet aviation pioneer but his ‘vanity’ publisher scarpered with the £6k, ditched the manuscript and original photos. Result: Wunjo Press was born and An Evil Boy was finally published.
